The London borough of Hackney is a place of contrasts with 89 languages spoken, over 40% Black and Minority Ethnic groups and a wide range of income levels living, working and going to school along side each other. A diverse and young community with 82% of people under the age of 55, there is plenty of aspiration and innovation to go around.
Hackney boasts the largest community owned solar panel system on social housing in London with an ongoing 4% annual return for investors . 20% goes into a community fund which provides internship opportunities for young people along with other projects aimed at improving their wellbeing and life chances.
